We’ve used a frozen pizza, but you can cook any pizza in your EGG™.

  • Pizza of your choice
  • Cornmeal

Prepare the Big Green Egg for indirect cooking.  Set plate setter with legs down in grill.  Heat grill to 450°F.  Place a baking stone on top of the plate setter; sprinkle with cornmeal to prevent the pizza from sticking.  Lay frozen pizza on top of it; close lid.  Cook 16 to 19 minutes, or until crust crisps to your liking.

You can make full-size or personal pizzas from scratch or start with frozen pizza dough for the crust.  A great idea for parties or even a family meal is to let everyone build their own personal pizza from a variety of ingredients you set out. Of course, they’ll need pizza sauce to start. Then set out offerings such as sliced or grated cheese, sliced onions, green pepper, mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage, artichoke hearts, black olives, or whatever you like on pizza.

Note:  A pizza peel makes it easier to get your pizza in and out of the Big Green Egg.  One can be purchased at most restaurant supply stores and some gourmet shops.
